In the year 1905 the whole Kangra city was destroyed due to earth quake.In this earth quake the mission school at Kangra was also destroyed. Then the Gurudutt primary school was shifted from Dharamshala to Kangra and it was granted the status of middle high school. In 1908 it was upgraded to high school. In 1920 the school got the permanent recognition.

Achievements:

  1. In 1961, the school got permanent recognition for higher secondary.
  2. In April 1986, the school got the permission of starting 10+1 & 10+2 classes and got permanent recognition.
  3. From April 1993 the school started getting 95% grant- in-aid from H.P. govt.Education Department.
